Trained as a classical soprano, Alissa Stahler first began her studies at SUNY Fredonia with renowned mezzo-soprano Delia Wallis. Among her studies, she found time to be cast in the mainstage musicals, operas and sing with the curricular jazz bands-run by internationally acclaimed saxonphonist Bruce Johnstone. Bitten by the jazz bug, she attended from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music and graduated with a Masters Degree in Jazz Voice. During her first year at MSM, Alissa was fortunate to be selected and performed on the nationally televised Showtime at the Apollo! At Manhattan, she studied under Grammy Award Winner Peter Eldridge of the New York Voices, Grammy Nominated Kate McGarry, and the critically acclaimed Theo Bleckmann. Exploring other genres such as Musical Theatre, Alissa has studied with Tony Award Winner Victoria Clark and "The Flower Drum Song's" Arabella Hong Young, and currently with Rachel Cohen McKenna.
No stranger to recording, she has recorded with Robbie Kondor, Will Lee, the late Hugh McCracken and Chris Parker. Singing as a cabaret singer in Nicholas Reeves' "4StopTour" Alissa made her Off Broadway debut at the 45th Street Theatre's in 2009. The following year she made her Off-Off Broadway debut at Theatre for the New City’s “If This Ain’t It!". Alissa has also performed as a soloist with the Todd Sullivan Orchestra for events and galas.
She loves performing in showcases and cabarets at various venues through out the city including The Duplex, The Metropolitan Room, Don’t Tell Mama!, 54 Below, The Laurie Beechman,Tomi Jazz, and most recently, Jules Bistro.
No stranger to TV, Alissa appeared in a national SpecialK commercial, and had a supporting role in a Japanese Movie "Natsu no Owari ni, Koi wo Shita" (I Fell in Love at the end of the Summer).
Alissa also debuted in 2 Off Broadway productions! She reprised her role as "Anita" in the smash hit musical "Girls Night: The Musical" at The Actor's Temple AND went on as Aunt Toniann, in "My Big Gay Italian Funeral", for a one night replacment, at St. Luke's Temple.
